What is the LCM LCD module?
To put it simply, the liquid crystal display module is a combination of LCD LCD screen and backlight module. It is called LCD Module in English, also called LCM liquid crystal display module.
LCM liquid crystal display module is a complete display module which assembles liquid crystal display devices, connectors, integrated circuits, control and drive circuits, PCB circuit boards, backlights and structures together according to the needs of users.
How many types of LCD modules are there?
Liquid crystal display module is mainly divided into the following three types: pen-type liquid crystal display module, graphic dot matrix liquid crystal display module, character lattice liquid crystal display module.
1. Pen-type LCD module.
The pen-type liquid crystal display module is a kind of functional component which is assembled by the segment liquid crystal display device and the special integrated circuit, which can only display numbers and some symbols. Segment code LCD screens are mostly used in portable and pocket devices. Because of the small size of these devices, the display part is not designed as separate components as much as possible. Even if some application fields need separate display components, they should not only have display functions, but also have some functions such as information reception, processing, storage and transmission, and so on. They are welcomed by the market because they have some general and specific functions.
There are three common digital liquid crystal display modules:
(1) Counting module.
This is a seven-segment liquid crystal display device with different digits and a decoding driver, or a counting display unit assembled with a counter. It has the functions of recording, processing and displaying numbers. At present, the main products that can be seen in the Chinese market are unit liquid crystal display modules driven by CD4055 decoding drivers, and 4-bit, 6-bit, 8-bit, 10-bit, 12-bit and 16-bit counting modules assembled by ICM72ll,ICM7231,ICM7232,CDl4543,UPDl45001,HD44100 and other integrated circuits and corresponding LCD devices.
(2) Metering module.
The metering module is a kind of module which is assembled by a multi-segment liquid crystal display device and an integrated circuit chip with the functions of decoding, driving, counting and Aamp D. Because the integrated circuit used has the function of Ahammer D conversion, the input analog signal can be converted into digital display. We know that any physical quantity, even chemical quantity (such as pH, etc.) can be converted into simulated electricity, so as long as equipped with a certain sensor, this module can achieve any quantity and display, which is very convenient to use. The main types of integrated circuits used in metering modules are ICL7106, ICL7116, ICL7126, ICL7136, ICL7135, ICL7129 and so on. The functions and characteristics of these integrated circuits determine the functions and characteristics of metering modules. As metrological products, metrological verification must be carried out in accordance with the regulations. The measurement certificate shall be affixed to the products with the approval of the measurement department.
(3) timing module.
The timing module uses liquid crystal display device for timing for a long time. Assembling a liquid crystal display device and a timing integrated circuit together is a fully functional timer. Because it does not have the shell of a finished clock, it is called a timing module. Although the timing module has a wide range of uses, the general and standard timing module is very difficult to buy in the market. We can only go to the electronic watch manufacturer to buy or order a suitable watch movement. Although the appearance of the timing module and the counting module are similar, but their display mode is different, the number displayed by the timing module is composed of two digits and two digits. In the counting module, each number is arranged in succession. As many timing modules also have timing and control functions, such modules can be widely assembled to some power-up and equipment, such as tape recorders, CD players, microwave ovens, rice cookers and other electrical appliances.
2. Character dot matrix LCD module.
The character dot matrix liquid crystal display module is composed of dot matrix character liquid crystal display devices, special row and column drivers, controllers and necessary connectors and structures, which can display numbers and western characters. The dot matrix character module itself has a character generator, which has large display capacity and rich functions. In general, this kind of module can also display 8-bit 1-line or 16-bit l-line characters. The lattice arrangement of this module is composed of 5 × 7, 5 × 8 or 5 × 11 pixel lattice arrangements. Each group is 1 bit, there is a little interval between each one, and there is also a row interval between each line, so the graph cannot be displayed.
Generally, there is a character library CGROM in the module control and driver that has solidified 192 character models, and there is also a random access memory CGRAM that allows users to customize and establish special characters, allowing users to build 8 5 × 8 lattice characters.
3. Graphic dot matrix LCD module.
The graphic dot matrix liquid crystal display module is also a kind of lattice module, which is characterized by continuous arrangement of lattice pixels and no spaces in rows and columns. As a result, continuous, complete graphics can be displayed. Because it is also composed of Xmury matrix pixels, it can also display characters in addition to graphics.
